Do Not Feed

Perimeter wildlife pressure now exceeds the patience of the local guard. Citizens who hear chittering in the grass will stop calling it wind, stop approaching it for a better look, and stop throwing ration ends toward it.

This notice replaces rumor, bravado, and advice received from anyone carrying a prospector guidebook upside down. A nest is not abandoned because it appears still. A limping animal is not harmless because it appears hurt. The grass has had ample opportunity to correct these misunderstandings.

Proceed through the field notices in order. Identify the thicket. Mark the lair. Report for ROLLCALL. Keep matrix relay work clean. Call Central Complex Alpha when the count passes local capacity. Compliance remains cheaper than replacement boots.

If the grass answers: withdraw, mark, report.

Observed

  • Chitter without visible wind.
  • Pelt lines beneath stick cover.
  • Fresh tracks around relay spoil.
  • One injured animal waiting in open ground.

Immediate procedure

  1. Keep boots out of the grass.
  2. Count citizens, not noises.
  3. Mark the approach from hard ground.
  4. Report to Sector Center.
